Gilwell Reunion 2018 is open.

The first full weekend in September can only mean one thing in the Scouting calendar…Gilwell Reunion, the one time each year where adults in Scouting from across the world get together to meet old friends, make new ones, share ideas and let their hair down.

The evening was officially opened by Camp Chief Ross Maloney who extended a warm welcome to the 2500+ adults from across the country and around the world before going through his highlights for the weekend and introducing fellow members of Team UK who also welcomed the masses and hoped that everyone had an enjoyable weekend.

Scout Radio later caught up with Tim Kidd, UK Chief Commissioner who describes Reunion as the most

intense weekend of the year…but its great to meet so many people and to hear so many stories of things they are doing, the way they are doing it, the great adventures they’re having and the successes they’re having and sometimes some of the problems they are encountering and how they are dealing with those issues.

Reunion would not be Reunion without a bit of a challenge, and following on from last years ‘dab’ or as Tim put it “I more dibbed”, there was an open challenge from Tim to Chief Exec Matt Hyde for a ‘floss off’ during the weekend. Reunion waits with bated breath.
