Reunion 2017 – Tim Kidd opens the 91st Gilwell Reunion.

Its Friday night at Gilwell Reunion 2017, Scout Radio is broadcasting throughout the weekend to over 2400 adult volunteers on site via 87.9fm and online.

UK Chief Commissioner Tim Kidd opened his first Reunion this evening. Tim encouraged participants to

Remake your old friends…make new friends, say hello to people you don’t know, swap stories and enrich your Scouting.

Joined on stage by Hannah Kentish, UK Youth Commission, the pair spoke of their highlights for the weekend.

Hannah encouraged participants to attend sessions on Youth Shaped Scouting and saying thank you via the awards on offer by the Scout Association. Finally Hannah suggested that everyone checks out the food stalls that will be dotted around camp square.

Tim Kidd informed the crowd of his excitement of hearing from adventured Ed Stafford who will entertain reunion on Saturday as well as the famed annual Gilwell Quiz that will be taking place on Saturday evening.

 

Scout Radio’s Adam caught up with Tim and Kester Sharpe, Deputy UK Commissioner, following the opening to get their thoughts on the weekend.

Im looking forward to Team UK being out and about being part of Reunion. We are all taking part in various things this weekend.

Tim followed up with the importance of the AGM
