Reunion 2017 – John Hemming-Clark

Sunday’s morning show saw the infamous author (in his own words) of ‘In you go – a year or two in the life of a Scout Leader‘ John Hemming-Clark join Martin for a chat about his works.

Martin was keen to discover the origins of John’s books and was delighted to hear that it was a very Scouting reason that inspired John to write In You Go:

When some of my Scouts started putting out feelers about going to the World Jamboree in Japan in 2015 and needed to do some fundraising…I said, “I know, I shall write a book”. So I wrote in you go…and donated 50p or £1, depending on how it was sold, to the cause.

Not content with writing books for adults and Scout Leaders, John has embarked on writing a number of short stories aimed at the young audience:

Horace Horrise- the UKs cheekiest, funniest and  naughtiest young person who is desperate to become a Scout. I’ve written 9 short stories and I’ve had three of them published.  The third story Horace Horrise Throws a Party…I’ve put in for the worlds longest book title, it’s got over 1500 words in the title.

John very kindly waives the postage fee when bought on his website inyougo.webeden.co.uk  when using the promotional code SCOUTS.
